Which group is most disadvantaged by the current provision of cinemas?         | Back |

What do You Do? Lets do some picture portraits of 4 separate local people who are affected in different ways by the lack of a cinema in Abergavenny.   For each person consider:
Income,
Age / family circumstance
Car Ownership,
place of residence

Here is an example ...

Peter Noblett ('40 something') lives and works in Crickhowell. He says I don't go to the cinema as often as I used to now that my children have grown up and can drive themselves. I go to Newport Retail Park multiscreen cinema with my wife once or twice a year and we always drive there. We book tickets in advance and collect them with credit card. We don't really consider the travel costs just the cost of tickets and of course things like popcorn are expensive if you buy them at the cinema. A cinema in Abergavenny would be useful .... but I might meet children I teach there which could lead to problems for either side so I might still go down to Newport depending on the choice of film.
