| Enjoying our stay in Naples. Went to the ruined city of Pompeii yesterday. The volcano Vesuvius is magnificent. It is so hot here - I'll stay by the coast today or take a boat trip out to Capri. 2 |
| Rome is just so magnificent! We saw the Vatican yesterday but no sign of the Pope. Tonight we drove by the Colisseum - it was all lit up - wow it has made our trip! The food is great - pasta and pizza baby! And Chianti wine of course. Which you were here (Not) Only joking. 3 |
| Can you believe it? We arrived in Sicily yesterday and today Etna started its firework display. What a treat! We could see the smoke from our hotel 20 kms away and at night we could see the red glow in the sky. 4 |
| It is not everyone's idea of fun but I love cars and I love football. We saw Juventus at home to Arsenal last night and today I toured the Fiat factory. In the distance we can see the snow capped peaks of the Alps. Turin hosted the winter Olympics in 2006. 5 |
| My skiing is improving no end. I might be able to try snowboarding next year. I am not so keen on the heights. The views made the trip worthwhile though. I am glad I was brave enough to go up in the cable car - Mrs. Dawkins held my hand when I got a bit scared. 6 |
