Theme 1 Investigation Population Change

Uses and Limitations of the Demographic Transition Model
You should also be able to evaluate the model's applicability, by being aware of its use and limitations and be able to support arguments with specific evidence from specific countries.
For example, the limitations of the model could be approached by looking at its origins as a descriptive analysis of changes in CBR, CDR and total population of the UK since the 1700s, so it will not be directly applicable to countries such as Japan which have different economic, social and political background to that of the UK.
