  Tesco has targeted Crickhowell based on its demographic characteristics. Although the town has under 3000 inhabitants it serves neighbouring villages increasing the catchment to 6000 people. The people are affluent and relatively mobile and it is considered that the Tesco Express format could be highly profitable.
