| Practical Action is a British charity. It has as different approach to overcoming poverty in LEDCs. It believes that aid is of limited value as it is only given for a short period of time. Practical Action suggest that it is better to encourage people to look after themselves in order to gain self respect and independence. It believes in the proverb 'Give a man a fish and you can feed him for one day (Aid), teach him to fish and he can feed himself for life (education). If he is taught how to make fishing nets then he becomes independent. | ||
